V1CGaming's review of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
This review is for the Xbox 360 version

Ninja Gaiden 3 is a guilty pleasure. A incredible and sensational mix of wondrous katana fighting, flying limbs and exaggerated finishing moves are waiting for you. Fans of the series will find the game a tad disappointing due to the worthless story and the - in comparison to the other games in the series - way too easy fights. If all you're looking for is a good, but not too deep fighting mechanism then Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will satisfy your needs.

cornishlee's review of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge

This game is basically a throw back to the eighties in terms of gameplay and story: a solitary ninja seeks to save the world from a shadowy, evil international organisation which seeks to destroy the world; ten levels make for what could be a pretty short game but brutal difficulty means that it could (and should) take most players much, much longer than that.
Replay value is provided by the ability to play each of the levels over again with two different characters, whilst an online portal attracts those who really can't get enough ninja action to ever satisfy their sad needs.
The game controls smoothly and although the graphics aren't ground-breaking they are on a par with most HD titles in 2012. In short then, it's fun and challenging in a straightforward, no need to think, kind of way.

When I started the game it asked what difficulty I wanted, Easy, Normal, or Hard. I thought about picking Hard, because after all, I'm a Fromsoft gamer, and I knew this game was from the era when videogames were mostly insultingly easy and simplistic. But I figured I'd give Normal a try as a baseline. An hour later and I was still stuck on like the 4th fight, lol. This game absolutely demolished me, and I really don't have the patience to learn it right now. There's some things I really don't like about the controls and I do think that's a part of why I'm having so much trouble, but I also think it's just really, really hard. That'll teach me to get cocky.
