Gears of War: E-Day

They are doing a Halo Infinite with Gears by focusing on the core aspects of the series (although not abandoning the new trilogy that is supposed to conclude eventually with Gears 6). Not only are the bringing back classic characters, they are returning to the grit and darkness of the first game. I hope they succeed. Gears single player is really dependent on art, dialogue and pacing. The gameplay is very polished but shallow (I stress that i talk about single player campaigns).

I hate that it's just a Cinematic trailer, but on the other hand i already know how this will play. It's all contingent on a coherent story, enemy variety and pacing which is very difficult to achieve. The Coalition may be the masters of the Unreal Engine but making a fun Gears game is their most difficult task for this entry. I'd like to believe they still have talented people left there, I know they brought back Joshua Ortega who wrote Gears of War 2.

This is exciting and I'm rooting for them all the way, even though I couldn't care less about the last two Gears games. Never fight alone.
