We're in the process of merging Giant Bomb game entries to IGDB entries. This is an older Giant Bomb page. It's safe to use, and all data will eventually be moved to the corresponding IGDB entry.
Beekeeper (and former world’s greatest detective) Sherlock Holmes is arranging a surprise picnic for his friend Watson. Unfortunately pesky mysteries keep getting in the way! Explore, find clues and interrogate your neighbours in this cosy point and click adventure!
This little surprise came along when I had just finished Deponia, a game I deeply disliked. This game in the same genre was a lot more fun, though quite short at around 2 and a half hours long.
Sherlock Holmes is retired and wants to throw a picnic for his lifelong friend Watson. He has to solve a series of puzzles in the seaside town he retired to in order to make the picnic happen. The game has an interesting mechanic of combining clues in order to arrive at a solution before the solution can be pursued.
The puzzles aren't too difficult. It helps that there aren't many places to visit. It also has a mechanic of calling Sherlock's brother Mycroft to get help in places if you're stuck.
The story is nice. You get a good example of a positive male friendship and a community of realistic feeling NPCs. It also does a good job of feeling very 1920s.
