The sequel to OutRun features similar basic gameplay to the original, with the action viewed from behind the car, and the challenge being to complete each stage within the time limit. Contact can cause the car to spin, slow down or even flip; in each case you will lose time. As the title implies, you now have a turbo booster installed, which speeds up the car, although over-use can cause the engine to overheat, and it is not recharged until each shop section. Reached end goal...

  • ... But I had like 10 continues in the process.

Final thoughts: Definitely a logical follow-up to OutRun. The game still features a great sense of speed further enhanced with boosting, but the original arcade difficult is still unforgiving, if not more difficult with some of the turns (I blame you Denver). Other than that, the game still looks along great for its time with yet another stellar soundtrack that unfortunately isn't remembered as well as the original songs.

Random nitpick that Dallas looks much more like the Sahara desert in the game, and the game does lose a bit of its identity without the branching paths.
