The biplane and jet games also allowed for variation, such as multiple planes per player and an inventive game with a squadron of planes versus one giant bomber. Read less

Great multiplayer arcade style game

Look: 8/10 Set a precedent, ahead of its time, yes, but wasn't necessarily striking. I did appreciate all the different shapes, sizes, etc. of the potential ships--a lot of variety for this early of a game ported to console. So yea, I loved the variety of settings of level designs, colors, and player sprites.

Look: 8/10 Set a precedent, ahead of its time, yes, but wasn't necessarily striking. I did appreciate all the different shapes, sizes, etc. of the potential ships--a lot of variety for this early of a game ported to console. Play: 8/10 At first I said: "Seems fun enough, but meh not worth fighting to find someone to play with. The controls are clunky for sure, though it does remind me of Resident Evil tank controls ha." But as I gave it more and more tries, and then played with a friend, the gameplay became clearer--and indeed, it is fun. Turns out it was worth playing after all. The controls are simple and not actually that clunky for the time, the variety of settings is excellent for the time, and the replayability due to the multiple settings/levels/setups.

Feel: 8/10 Without having someone to consistently play 2+ player games with (at least I had a way to do so for this one with PS4 controllers), it's always hard to properly rate these types of games. But again, after my initial iffiness, I feel for the game. The controls actually are fun and I like that the bullets go through the screen; also, I like that there are obstacles on some levels to block and whatnot. I could see this being really really fun with someone else who has played the game enough to know the controls and mechanics (e.g., of walls, bullets, etc.) to be a fun challenge each time.

Attachment: 7/10 This may stand out among the early multiplayer arcade style games, imo, but for now I am not quite sure if I will be returning to these that often. Like I usually say, play this for sure if in mood for arcade-style gameplay, as long as you have a 2nd player to have some fun with--in that case, this is a definite high attachment since could play in the many different settings and setups. But in my case, at least, we'll see if I end up back here. And if I do, I will definitely return to this rating.
