Fun and addicting, however, it's way too easy for adults. I don't think I lost a single level in story mode. I only lost in some apsurd minigame after, once or twice. Wish it was more strategic. Once you figure out one strategy, you can pretty much use it forever in every level.

Plants vs. Zombies is an all time classic, one of those that everybody has played. But if you've somehow never played it: this is one of those games that are just fun to play, without crazy thinking or complex systems to keep in mind.

Recommended for practically everyone, even your grandma will like it!

I bought this game for 90 ct 10 yearss ago and then they replaced it with the free version with ads? What the heck EA?!

The best and OG lane defense game, where you collect sunlight, buy plants and try to defend your home against the various of zombies. You have to adapt many strategies to counter the different type of brain eaters with a bunch of aggressive plants, which you can upgrade or stack on each other to increase their chance of not getting eaten. Collecting coins is also important to unlock more traps and better plants that may even give you a chance to beat the final boss.

The game also has a bunch of side activities and mini-games, like being with the zombies or bowling with coconuts. There are some challanges too, like when you have to finish a level in complete darkness or beating one with only the resources the game choose to give you.

So a bunch of content and fun gameplay, I really recommend this game. Wish the sequels were also accessible on PC.

Spent so many hours cultivating a perfect Zen garden.

Loved me a double row of sunflowers, the odd potato mine for early stages, Tallnuts and those chompy ones, and then a shit tonne of pea shooters of all kinds.

It's a Plant (Tower) Defense!

Protect your brain by planting plants in your backyard to stop the zombies invasion. Bla bla bla, it's addictively fun. Love tower defense? Then play this gaem! (typo intended)

Cute concept that snuck in just before the zombie fad was overplayed. Takes a bit more strategy than your usual casual/mobile game, so that's nice, but once you figure out the strategy it becomes a bit too rote for its own good.

1001 Games - #956

Pros: addicting & simple gameplay, loaded with extra content

Cons: repetitive music, Zen Garden adds little, lack of PvP mode on iOS

Cons: repetitive music, Zen Garden adds little, lack of PvP mode on iOS

Recommendation: While I cannot comment on the console or DS version, Plants vs. Zombies is an excellent mobile game. Despite its cheap price point, there are 50 levels and a bevy of mini-games (most of which play very similar to the main game). That being said, each level requires a bit of a time commitment, so it's not as pick-up-and-play as many other mobile games.

a few years ago I was incredibly bitter towards people that smoked. i always wondered why the hell people would choose to take up such a habit in the first place, or just quit when they were suffering from lung damage. however, after playing plants vs zombies for well over 200 hours, i can safely say i now completely understand the perspective of a chronic smoker. this game is some of the most addictive fun i have had in years. it is one of the main reasons i bought a smartphone, just so i could play on public transport. it's seriously that good.
