A Perfect Introduction For Dead Rising 2

Just To Clarify, this is practically a demo. But a demo that was done well!

Case Zero introduces the main two casts for Dead Rising 2. Which are Chuck and his daughter. Despite the length of the game being short, it gave us a strong character arc that helps us fall in love with the characters. It felt real, organic, and heartfelt.

Even though Case Zero was short, Chunk had a more impact presence and tone to the Dead Rising franchise than frank ever did in the first game. Don't get me wrong, Frank was a good character. But he was soo easily overshadowed by so many other characters that made me forget about frank even tho he was the main character. Even if Frank covered wars, I simply couldn't connect with him. But Chuck on the other hand I felt such a strong connection because his character felt more realistic and real (with the father/daughter connection).

As for the downsides of Case Zero. The survivors were extremely lacked luster. I understand it was a short demo. But could have they at least made the survivors a bit more interesting. They felt to cliche and too cheesy. The only interesting survivor was "Dick". Another issue was the psychopath. Noting too memorable, but then again it's a demo. So it's expected, just wished they gave him more of a threat and better dialogue, and better character design.

Despite those flaws, Case Zero is a great introduction to Dead Rising 2.

Was the $5 dollar price tag worth it? Hell YES!

See my Dead Rising 2 review, as the gameplay is pretty much the same. This game is somewhere between a stand alone dlc and demo. It has a story, map, characters and other features not found in the main game, but is very short. It loses points compared to the main game for not being free and because it is not available on PC.

Played during free trial of xbox game pass. Only took a few hours. Too bad my Dead Rising 2 is on PC, so I could not carry over anything.
