I played this game for hundreds of hours on Xbox 360 and ps4, getting all achievements and trophies. I guess I like the game a little bit. Now that they fixed it I can play it on PC yay. Now I can do that all over again.

The port to PC is kinda bad but that’s ok. I can’t believe people are still playing this game in 2024, people join me whenever I make a match. It’s awesome.
This is still one of the best co op games. I know people were mixed on it since it’s not horror, it’s more action, but I still loved it. It’s cheesy goodness is still good in 2024.
The gold edition - Contains the several expansions.
Lost in Nightmares - is the standout campaign, taking place with Chris and Jill before the main game. It takes it back to survival horror OG resident evil roots, and is just awesome. Definitely worth the bundle to play this if you
Mercenaries Reunion - is just more mercenaries goodness. It’s adding in awesome characters like Barry, Josh, Excella, Rebecca, and more. I just love the new characters move sets as each fit the characters and mercenaries in this game is just so fun.
Desperate Escape - is just ok. You get to play as Jill and Josh which are 2 awesome characters and yet, why is their dlc so boring lol. It’s pretty much action focused, and nothing new here at all. I’ll still play it but I’m not happy about it lol.
Versus - is just not really relevant anymore with the lack of players playing this game. It wasn’t my favorite when it came out either. It’s annoying that there are achievements for this mode.

7/10 Le jeu est clairement pas le meilleur mais le faire en coop avec le daron a quand même une saveur unique.

I avoided completing this game for years, as its older brother is one of my favorite games of all time, and my first impressions back around its release were underwhelming. The forced co-op, the bad AI, the strangely sunny and completely suspense-less setting; all these added up to a disappointing sequel made worse by its desperate and incoherent attempts to ape Leon's superior jaunt through the "zombie" infested countryside.
It's not the cheese that bothers me, that's been a staple of every entry since the Spencer mansion was first used for shelter. It's the level the developers felt like they needed to go to in order to one-up its predecessor. Chris Redfield literally punching a massive boulder into a lava stream was pretty tough to process.
It's not the pacing that bothers me either, as I felt the very limited exploration interspersed with slightly tense moments and frequent monster closets actually played pretty well, frequently instilling in me the desire to see the next cutscene, or find out what's behind the next door before putting the game down.
The general cohesion is something that, in my opinion, didn't make the jump from RE:4 to RE:5. The game always felt like I was simply jumping from set-piece to set-up for the next set-piece, over and over again. Instead of a tense fight with a massive troll like creature, I was stuck in a tank, firing a massive gun at an even bigger and "awesomer" version of the same creature. Instead of a terrifying boss fight with the village chief in a cramped and difficult to navigate cabin, I was shooting a "Satellite Laser" at the next Uroburos leviathan in yet another attempt to shoehorn in co-op mechanics where they didn't belong.
At the end of the day, I'm glad I finally played and beat Resident Evil 5. The gunplay was enjoyable, the pacing was tight and the story was suitably dumb. I just wish the development team didn't feel the need to go "bigger and better" at every turn, and that co-op had been optional.
3 Stars - Relatively enjoyable experience that paled in comparison to most of its siblings.

I since tried to go back to it, without a partner on my side and I just can't get to it. At first I didn't even understand why the experience was being so underwhelming, then it dawned on me, I can't play this without coop.

But the thing is, it's still pretty satisfying.

Following the footsteps of Resident Evil 4 this game is both a little better and a little worse. Still fun to play though annoying at times as it's predecessor.
The story happens five years after the events in Resident Evil 4 and you play as Chris Redfield. You with your partner are sent to Africa to track down some bio-terrorist and the story goes from there. You encounter Las Plagas or some kind of it's mutation (was not really paying that much attention) that again turns people into zombie like creatures. Those are not as previously as zombies but you wouldn't tell a difference. Though would a zombie ride a bike? I think not. The story is pretty nice and takes you through a lot of well designed zones.
On graphical side the game has much improved. From being dark and gray in previous title the pallet shifts to yellow and gray - thus quite nicely giving the African feel. The models are much better detailed and it's quite the step up comparing to the previous one.
Gameplay has not changed all that much though there are changes. First of - they've added strafing - that helps a lot! Secondly as this game is mostly designed for co-op play you are stuck with a partner which wastes ammo, though heals you a lot making it really hard to die. It's a shame you can't play without the partner. The game structure at first really reminds of the previous game. You are thrown into the most hard part of the game within the first half an hour. At least that was my feeling.
The weapon shops were removed in favour of what might be load-out menu that lets you store and buy items between levels - or when you die. The inventory system has been simplified a lot as well sadly. There are nine slots, no item stacking and arranging as previously. The weapons are pretty cool and feel nice. The electric rod however is so overpowered for regular zombies that it feels like game braking.
As with previous game I did enjoy fighting zombies and doing QTEs - not so much keen on the boss fights. Though those might be a bit easier than in RE4. Still played till the end and had enough fun to recommend.

I try not to allow the fact that something's a sequel to something else affect my rating of it, but it's unavoidable here. RE5 is the title that jumped the shark for Capcom's beloved zombie survival horror series, completely abandoning the tone and tension of former entries in favor of over-the-top action and a multiplayer mode nobody asked for.
I'll be the first to recognize that RE4 succeeded tremendously specifically because it abandoned tradition to do something crazy and new, but RE5's direction is just not appealing. By allowing you to replay levels endlessly and all but guaranteeing that you'll never run out of ammo or healing items, the game has lost any sense of scarcity of resources. Instead, it becomes a grindfest in which you replay the same levels repeatedly to unlock all the best guns. The addition of a partner who can occasionally heal you when you're injured is more than negated by the addition of a partner who will occasionally get herself killed while you're off doing your own thing. I'd much rather just have an awesome death scene than make every fall into an annoying cutscene to sit through before the AI decides whether or not to let you keep going.
Had this been its own title outside of the RE franchise, I might have bought it, might have enjoyed it a bit, and probably would give it an extra star. But it wasn't, and it ran the canon dead into the ground, and it killed off one of my favorite characters in a pretty moronic sort of way. Bleh.
