stylish aesthetic but not much to love here in this action platformer
Chakan is one promising looking game with an interesting and very dark backstory, title and setting... Chakan is one promising looking game with an interesting and very dark backstory, title and setting... Unfortunately, every bit of the game feels like a subpar Kid Chameleon It's overall just boring. the graphics are muddy, music and sound is Genesis-tinny, and the game feels slow and sluggish. Enemies are kinda hokey (like fighting frogs all day in a pond) level design is chaotic and non intuitive (you have to find a special part of the map which could be literally anywhere) your move set is limited and you dont have a lot of control. You do have powers which consist of activated abilities from drinking potions consumed after pressing start. These abilities can be, increased damage, temporary invisibility (invincibility) or simply jumping higher. It seems that these are required to get past certain obstacles in the game.
Imagine literally killing and conquering death but unable to kill a demon-possessed octupus? This broke me.
I'm disappointed because one look at this game looks like its going to be epic but its just average at best.
