The player guides Mappy the police mouse through the mansion of the cats called Mewkies (Meowky in the U.S. version) to retrieve stolen goods. The player uses a left-right joystick to move Mappy and a single button to operate doors. The mansion has six floors of hallways in which the stolen items are stashed.

I wish there were a jump feature, but it's really more like a maze game in the end cuz you can only "attack" with the doors that shoot out. And the trampoline mechanic is sorta awkward. But once I got a hang of it it was fun for a while. Also, super cute concept lol you're a police-mouse (ew, but still funny and cute) collecting valuables from a cat's house (?, sounds like stealing to me) and apparently you can even microwave the cats (kinda messed up but interesting), and the Boss Cat was a cute idea. Just not enough for me to truly enjoy the game and give it a higher rating. Kinda weird that you dont get hurt when you run into them except when on platform. Technically a good game, but I only got through one screen of collecting valuables before I tired of gameplay.

A fun little Namco arcade game where you control a police mouse in a mansion full of trampolines, cats, and stolen goods you need to collect. It's pretty bizarre, but so was Pacman I guess so let's just roll with it. This one's not nearly as addicting as Pacman and I prefer the very similar game Flicky (released by Sega a year later), but Mappy is still pretty enjoyable once you get a feel for the timing of everything (you are invincible while in the chutes with the trampolines, and can pass through enemies as you bounce off them). What's really finicky in this one are the doors, which you can open and shut from specific distances. I find this a decent "once in a while" arcade game to play.

For whatever reason, Mappy got a sort of Adult Swim-style low-animated Flash cartoon back in 2011. Namco randomly was pushing old and obscure IPs of theirs at that time via web comics and stuff... IDK how helpful that was, but something curious to check out.
