Single player is a letdown and doesn’t keep you coming back but don’t let that stop you from playing it in multiplayer. When you have three or four players the game is an absolute blast and maintains a great competitive spirit as well as replay value.
I love that there was a game called Pac-Man Battle Royale released in 2011, well before Fortnite set off the craze of everyone battling it out in a game until only one remains. PMBR is basically what I wanted Pac-Man 99 to be, but with 99 Pac-Mans on a gigantic map I guess. In PMBR though, it's just you and three friends, playing Pac-Man, and you get to become a Pac-Cannibal when you eat a power pellet. Devour your Pac-Friends until they are Pac-Dust-in-the-Wind. There can be only one PAC!
A game that lasts a minute, but it's a fun minute! Simple arcade fun. This game is included in the latest Pac-Man Museum collection, and I'll go ahead and note that it's a completely pointless game to play on your own. It's a real shame that you can't play online with three people... But it's at least a good one to bring out if you got friends over. (Also, be sure to play Pac-Man VS, if you can! The best 4-player Pac-Man party game. That's available in the Namco Museum collection, but requires two Switch systems to play properly.)
