Mediocre Action Platformer, But It's A Genre I Enjoy

Preliminary: Oh wow this is going really fast and there are only 5 levels... Already through the first boss in mere minutes. And I didn't have to abuse savestates at all? I wonder why I was struggling with it on the arcade machine a while back when I playtested it? I think it's cuz I didn't really pick up on the green boxes holding power-ups? In the first level I got a hot pepper so I'm super fast with my attacks, and now in the second level the POW powerups got my hammer huge lol.

Overall, this isn't a great game. It's cute it's playable, there are some clunky mechanics like the ladders and the controls' clunkiness more apparent in these later levels, but it has a nice charm overall Looks and Sounds cute the "Let's Get Ready" has a nice voice for it (funny I loathed hearing it so many times during my playtest) and the difficulty is manageable for a gamer like me. Plus, the Look of Stage 3 was really neat enter image description here

If only there were a life bar and more frequent power-ups. I almost quit on the 3rd stage bosses cuz I really am trying not to bog down my joy of backlog with mediocre games but also with games like Elvira and this coming out this year, it's hard to balance that. Because by no means was Elvira mediocre, but I first gave it a 2 star because I just didn't have the patience for some of its faults. So with this game, even tho it's pretty mediocre platformer for a 1990 arcade game, I still feel like I should push through its faults since it does have a cute voice part that is quite advanced, cute Look, etc. I dunno... Maybe I just need to learn it's okay to give a 2 star and move on haha

Day 2

Welp that was a short-lived Day 2. The game doesn't let you scroll wherever you please, despite arcade games absolutely having the capability, and now I'm in a stuck position. This is where the boss is supposed to be based on a playthrough I just watched, but I somehow found my way up here without spawning the boss so I'm stuck? Poor programming. And with the overall mediocrity of the game, I think it's time just to move on, hard to decide on a rating tho enter image description here

Look: 7.5/10 Overall that classic 90s arcade Look that is really cute, but also nothing special. And it's becoming quite standard for arcade games, heck even console and PC games, at this point.

Sound: 7/10 Cute but unremarkable

Play: 7/10 Faulty, but so were a lot of games from this era so I wont give it the 6.5 I almost did. Because in the end I like short sweet action platformers and even with its flaws, it's a game I could pick up and play occasionally.

Feel: 7/10 Cute and nice, but its flaws render it passable.

Attachment: 7/10 I think if I didn't have access to this on an arcade machine this would just be a 2 star and move on. And tho I don't think this'll ever be my go-to on the arcade machine, I can't deny that knowing all the at-least-decent action platformers on it to show friends and family is good, and this would be one of them.

Overall: 7.1/10

Completion: Seemingly the end of Stage 3 but no boss spawned?

Playtime: ~20 mins

If I hear let's get busy one more time... Lol. I love that you use objects as projectiles and I like the attack mechanic . But I'll need to play it on MAME first to get used to the mechanics cuz I was dying way too quickly on the actual arcade machine before I could learn many mechanics
