Ninja Golf is an Atari 7800 video game which combines scrolling beat 'em up with golf simulation gameplay. Released in 1990, it later gained some renown for its outlandish subject matter and unique blend of gameplay styles. The player starts each hole by aiming his ball and shooting it toward the green. He then runs toward the ball, in traditional sidescroller fashion, fighting various enemies encountered along the way. It shouldn't work, but it does, sort of
This review is for the Atari 7800 version

You'll be lost without the power metter so associated with golf games, but the bread n butter lies in the side scroller, sadly is very basic, even for the standards of other contemporary games, there's an idea that might be worth another try.

This is the ONLY Atari 7800 game that I enjoyed enough to play it through, that system really is the lowest mark yet

weirdest retro games ever lol

this is one of the weirdest retro games ever lol. I kinda love how serious the game is about such a ridiculous idea. Ninja… playing golf… and fighting a dragon at the end? amazing. Ninja Golf is one of those golf hit games where the concept is funnier than it should be. Like… golf but you fight ninjas and animals on the way to the ball.
