Little Computer People is a social simulation game representing a fully furnished house on a computer. This "House on a Disk" is based on the theory that every computer has an "occupant" (i.e. Little Computer People - LCP), which can be made visible by providing accommodation. Every computer should have a different LCP, who is usually accompanied by a dog as a pet.

Cute, Surprisingly Successful Pre-Sims Life Simulation Game

Preliminary: This is so cool! The basic idea is, a person lives in your C64. They're always there, but this program allows you to interact with them to make them happier lol. Basically Sims before Sims!

Look: 8/10 Great look, great C64 colors, great "toy house" feel like you're playing house but also just observing the doll do its thing in the toy house. enter image description here

Sound: 8/10 So many good sounds. I love love love the LCP's "voice" lol what in the world. A variety of jingles and whatnot, depending on whether it's a record for your LCP to dance or a piano piece they play.

Play: 7/10 My main complaint is that you are very limited for the first 5-10 minutes, tho going through that initial step is enjoyable to observe the first time. But for replays, it'd be nice to speed that along before the CTRL+ factors can come in.

Feel: 8/10 I may not play them often, but the concept of games like Sims and this will always have a special Feel to me. The idea of AI, the idea of people living in your computer, it's a Feel that sparks intrigue and curiosity to see the limits …

Attachment: 7/10 Just like with Sims, now that I'm 32 and have so many games i wanna play, I don't know how often I will spend hours observing this Little Computer Person. But I remember that feeling of getting a Sims game and spending hours just seeing what I can do and what the Sims characters will do. Indeed, I spent much longer on Little Computer People than I expected--not only because it's a people simulation game and I don't really have the time anymore nor that excitement of "wow this exists!", but also because of being a 1985 C64 game... I figured the limitations would hold it back a lot. Instead, I didn't think once about limitations during the gameplay--a lot of relevant vocabulary worked, make sure to read the Instructions provided here for how to do some of the basic commands, and it was fun seeing the Little Computer Person make decisions for themself (and sometimes do the lazy things my Sims characters used to, like leave the TV on lol). Surprisingly fun and well-done.

Playtime: ~20 mins (main reason it didn't get a 4 or higher.... like with Sims, there's only so much time I will devote to something that doesn't have an end goal. The 5-10 mins factor also played a big role in potential replays)
