Unique Early Action-Adventure, Worth A Try, But Lacking Something

Look: 7/10 Gotta love these Egyptian/desert-themed graphics enter image description here

Sound: 6/10 Usual, borderline annoying Atari beeps and boops. I do like that the combat basically sounded like table tennis paddles wapping things lol

Play: 7/10 You know it -- the manual helps. In fact, it's even better with this actual guide/FAQ since it states most the pertinent info from the Instructions/Manual anyway. There are basically 3 game modes, but I mostly saw them as varying difficulty levels since it really just added extra steps, didn't truly change the gameplay. Lol at Camels being obstacles impervious to the rocks you throw. I only played the first 2 game modes, and never "finished" that 2nd game mode. Not that it was bad, but it was already hard enough to figure out what was going on sometimes even with the manual. But also, it was "easy" in the sense of the actual combat and challenge, but just sort of, I dunno, redundant feeling and not worth finishing out. You'd think I'd love it since the combat is quite easy and I felt good at it! But I dunno, it just lacked something.

Feel: 6/10 Hm another contest-involved Atari game heh, like Swordquest, with another surprisingly highly-valuable prize! While I had fun reading about it, and a bit of fun playing it, it was quite disappointing tbh. Didn't feel all that fresh. Tho I can't claim to have played any other purely vertical scrolling action-adventures yet lol.

Attachment: 7/10 I oddly want to give this another try someday, maybe when I'm doing a thorough replay of all early action-adventures, but otherwise. Meh. Bit of a "chore" feeling to it. I'm worried cuz I'm starting to prefer short arcade games so much that many these early RPGs and action-adventures feel like a chore. Ahhh, maybe I forever changed my videogame psyche :( :-p
