The sun of Alpha Ro is fading fast! Soon it will flicker out. The Cosmic Ark races to save creatures from doomed planets in that solar system. Meteor showers bombard the Ark, threatening its Atlantean crew - and planetary defense systems make this mission of mercy doubly treacherous! Time and energy slip away- work fast or these defenceless little beasties will disappear for all time.

Very Simple, Very Fun Atari Game
This review is for the Atari 2600 version

Look: 8/10 Wow, love the colors, love the elaborate spaceship enter image description here love the space graphic enter image description here

And I like how the second stage has a whole different look and gameplay enter image description here

Sound: 8/10 I absolutely love the musicality of these sound effects, like just letting the spaceship get destroyed by meteors in the first stage becomes a rhythmic musical melody. And, still these sound effects sound decidedly space-y.

Play: 8/10 Wow, the Grouvee description for this is remarkably accurate lol, and yet terse. Nice. I had no idea what was going on at first--this wasn't just a straightforward space shoot em up--but thank god for manuals and online info. I felt really good at the 1st stage, where you simply shoot at the directions of the meteors flying at you. In the 2nd stage, you control a shuttle where you tractor beam up alien(?) life. enter image description here Fast-paced, fun, simple--all the qualities of a good Atari/arcade game.

Feel: 8/10 I felt really good playing this game! Sure, it's crazy simple--just 2 basic gameplay stages with increasing difficulty--but I had fun! The controls are responsive, the tractor beam is a cool concept, it felt fast-paced while being doable, I was surprised by how much I …

Attachment: 7/10 Even though I had a lot of fun playing this game, there's such a long list of simple, fun arcade/Atari games that they really need to shine to stand out tbh.
