Jason has taken the Golden Fleece from the gods! They are naturally upset and have imprisoned Jason in the Temple of Aphrodite with deadly Furies running overhead. You control Jason and your goal is to eliminate all of the Furies to move on to the next level. The Furies can be destroyed if they are hit with a magical brick from the roof of the temple. You are armed with an unlimited supply of stones, throwing a stone at the roof will cause a brick to fall (be careful, you'll lose a life if you hit yourself with a falling brick instead of the Furies). When a Fury is hit by a brick it is destroyed, but if you accidentally hit a Fury with a stone then it will multiply! The Furies will also be firing at you, and if you'll lose a life if hit. The game ends when you have no more lives left in reserve. Several difficulty levels are available. Read less

Decently Fun, Mythology-Themed, Unconventional Shooter

Look: 7/10 I like the colors at the very top. And the Pegasus sprite is quite nice. Otherwise just functional: hit those bricks at the top and time it right for the falling "sacred brick" to hit the enemies enter image description here

Play: 7/10 The manual is absolutely critical: I spent a good while shooting the enemies before realizing that multiples them. Once I knew what I was doing, it was decently fun for a bit, but after clearing 2 screens, it started to feel a bit redundant. It's nice to get your timing right, especially when there are only a couple Furies left which makes it a bit harder.

Feel: 7/10 Apparently there's a mythology theme to this? You're Jason, there's Pegasus, and those are Furies? Not all that clear I suppose. Especially with a name like No Escape heh. Greek myth games were definitely a trend in early 80s, mostly with text adventures but still. Be sure to read the manual/instructions so any of the game makes sense heh. Always nice to feel pretty good at a game, but the allure didn't last all that long. Especially when you had games like G.I. Cobra Strike involving 3-player mode where you can even play as the enemy (tho I didn't find it all that fun, that's still innovative) being released at the same time, this game falls into the sea of Atari action games I mention time to time.

Attachment: 6/10 As much fun as I had for a bit, it isn't worth an extensive playthrough nor a replay. Worth a playtest though if you like mythology games and/or Atari action games!

Completion: Cleared 2 screens of Furies, last screen moved way too fast! Playtime: 15m
