The Raiden Project features two vertically scrolling arcade shooters on one disc: Raiden and Raiden II. Raiden takes place in 2090, a time when Earth is under attack by hordes of alien "exobiological beings, a race of technologically advanced creatures from a distant galaxy." To combat this threat, the world's top scientists, engineers and otherwise brilliant people have replicated a super high-altitude fighter/bomber from the remains of a downed alien vessel. This new ship is called Raiden (aka Lightning Thunderbolt), and you are its pilot.

Whoever was in charge of this port, needed to know the difference between Arcade and Consoles.
This review is for the PlayStation version

Literally had too many problem playing it on original hardware that I had to play it on DuckStation to get the definitive experience. Still, you've got the ridiculous difficulty in the first game and multiple slowdowns happening here and there which made it an unsatisfying experience overall.

The second game was, however, a better overall experience for a Shoot 'em up. It's felt like they put more work on the second game than the first one, yet we still had the orientation problem which I had to deal with using DuckStation.

I appreciate the the inclusion of Remixes to show the PS1 capabilities and what it offer in the sound department.

Only recommended if you're willing to go through hell and back to play this game in its definitive form.

Very challenging game but very fun. Lots of replay value. Personally enjoyed Raiden II over the first but both are still really fun.
