Demo is fun. They didn’t seem to introduce any new weapons but a new dash ability and various perks. However I don’t think it is quite worth $30 for the full game. Will wait for a big sale.

I can still speed run Contra and Super C and Contra 3 after all these years. Fumbling through the first unfamiliar levels of this new Contra makes me wonder how many hours I must have put in to get to my mastery with the old games. Maybe it is better not to ever really know.

Bill and Lance? When I was a kid I thought they were Schwarzenegger and Rambo

I didn't expect to like this game so much. I like WayForward games, but they're usually pretty mid, with bad to average level design. But Contra is not really like that. The levels are great (a few are a little too long) and they really respect the first games design while updating some things.

I didn't expect to like this game so much. I like WayForward games, but they're usually pretty mid, with bad to average level design. But Contra is not really like that. The levels are great (a few are a little too long) and they really respect the first games design while updating some things.

Movement is great, the weapon systems works great (the overcharging weapons mechanic makes it surprisingly strategic) and the bosses are really cool.

The story is fucking shit to.

It's hard to recommend at $40 for 8 levels, but I'm still enjoying my time with it and earning unlockables.
