Overall, I like this collection way more than the Anniversary Collection. There's fewer games, but I like the Metroidvania style more than the classic style. They add a rewind feature, 10 save state slots instead of 1, I haven't had any issues with performance or crashing, and they made slight improvements to each of the game (mainly in the form …
Read moreOverall, I like this collection way more than the Anniversary Collection. There's fewer games, but I like the Metroidvania style more than the classic style. They add a rewind feature, 10 save state slots instead of 1, I haven't had any issues with performance or crashing, and they made slight improvements to each of the game (mainly in the form of the encyclopedias and tracking different items). I hope they figure out a way to bring the DS games to other platforms someday. With that, my Castlevania binge is done for now. Not sure what I'm going to play next.

Writing this guide to get all the hidden endings in the Castlevania games on the Advance Collection was a lot of fun! It made me remind of simpler times, playing on the SNES as a kid and farming souls on Aria of Sorrow in my GBA... and visiting Gamefaqs when I got stuck.
