DK3 is at It's core just a chore game where you spray bugs. that's It.
The gameplay becomes annoying after just 1 minute, and the rest of the game just goes like that, and the controls are just Bad. I see why this game didn't hit a home run like the first one and Nintendo shouldn't have looked at the money coming off the game and instead made a good product.
Is it just me or is the jump mechanic in this awful? This has the potential to be fun, but I only got to the 2nd screen before getting annoyed with jumping over the caterpillars without diagonal jumping (maybe I'm just doing something wrong... after all this is an arcade game, they are more than capable of diagonal jumping in '83)
Stanley the bug-spray dude for Smash!!!
Just kidding, this game blows (bug spray). Credit where credit's due -- it's nice that they tried doing new things with these various Donkey Kong entries. But this one didn't turn out very fun at all. Donkey Kong is hanging on some vines, and will fall down on you if you don't keep shooting bug spray up his ass. (I have some questions, Shigeru Miyamoto...) And for some reason, the Galaga bugs are here to swoop down at you too. This game does not feel intuitive at all, and the three looping levels don't really change things up so it gets old fast.
