This game is a Japanese-style adventure game set in the Phantasy Star universe. The player interacts with the game world by choosing available options such as "See", "Talk", "Move", etc. There are a few puzzles to solve and a few encounters with hostile characters (in a "pseudo-RPG" turn-based fashion), but the largest part of the game is dedicated to exploration and dialogue with the characters.

Innocuous, Empty-Feeling. But I Played Through It! And Great Music
This review is for the Sega Game Gear version

Preliminary: The music isn't good from what I'm hearing, but it's set in the Phantasy Star universe and is a throwback to text adventures I've been missing lately. Hopefully it's not too puzzle-y and the dungeons aren't too brutal (if there are any?)

I dunno what was going on with the video I watched, cuz the actual music is great so far! Classic PS. Picturing myself in 92 playing this with full color mobile, nice. But boooo no leveling/RPG???? And battles are purely RNG/dice-based? I like the dice being thrown but really would have liked leveling. Anyway, cute UI tho and truly text adventure-y so far in that the graphic screen is smaller than the text and command screens, more of a supplement than the focus, and nice vibes with this trip starting the journey :-p enter image description here

A lot of the basic niceties are missing, like the Axe being visible for me to want to Look for it (plus I thought you automatically Looked when you got a screen?) and no way to turn off repeating the Look description each time you go to a screen. But the music is enduring and I dunno, I just have been craving a text …

Day 1

Nice even the Battle music is really good. Very limited number of songs, but they are excellent as to be expected from PS. Too bad the combat is quite lacking.

Nice, gotta love a Map feature enter image description here

Lol I died twice to the final battle, but you just wakeup right next to it and are handed a healing item (which I didn't end up needing for the successful run, just needed RNG). The plotline, the puzzles, everything were very silly and empty, yet I still played through it. Shrug. enter image description here

Oh well that ended quickyl lol. No credits even. Only one kinda plot twist type thing about who is an android secretly, and a cute enough ending, but very terse and empty feeling. Still, I don't regret playing through it, and the Look and Sound are great for a mobile game in 92. I decided to screenshot the title screen since the ending was moot. enter image description here

Look: 8/10

Sound: 9/10

Play: 7.5/10

Feel: 7.5/10

Attachment: 7/10 I really shouldn't replay this lol, tho in a way it reminds me of RE: Survivor in that I may be drawn to replay it despite its flaws and innocuousness if thats a word.

Overall: 7.8/10

Completion: Main Story

Playtime: ~1 hour
