This here is a vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up in which sengoku pilots (you may know them as the "samurai aces") shoot down loads of Japanese-themed robots and airships. Feels a bit like MUSHA in a way, but perhaps leaning a bit more toward the samurai-era in its aesthetic rather than cyberpunk East Asia with aliens. This is an A-OK shmup that gets the job done. It feels a ton like the Aero Fighters games, which makes sense because they share the same creator. I think I preferred my time with Aero Fighters 2 over this one, which feels a bit more polished and is a lot funnier.

I've heard really great things about this game's horizontal-scrolling sequel, Tengai (AKA Sengoku Blade). So I'll have to check that one out at some point.
