Despite a convoluted story filled with silly retcons and nonsense, it's still fun to play through to see the (for now) official ending to the original Mortal Kombat story. I’m thrilled with the game, there are settings that make it easy to just pick up and have an easy fight or you can ramp up the difficulty and really challenge yourself to become the best fighter you can. There's a diverse roster of interesting characters and playstyles, and the story mode is an entertaining romp. Mortal Kombat 11 is a success in every way. NetherRealm takes risks and it pays off.
