Don't expect too too much; but it's pretty fun. the gameplay is simple, it's a bare bones rogue like, but that's refreshing sometimes. the combat is a good balance of difficulty. you struggle through runs in (UGH) procedurally generated rooms, you collect resources and you unlock some upgrades to keep trying. this isn't hades, there's not a great deal of depth or polish to it. It's very simple. but it manages to be enjoyable.
My only real complaint is that the icons, the UI and the text are all WILDLY out of place. I can't over state this. It takes you out of it hard. the design choices are...perplexing. the visual designs are in sharp contrast. I question what in the world they were thinking.
it doesn't ruin the experience entirely, but it was a terrible choice and I never stopped being just a little irritated by it.
So, I had low expectations from this game, and I can safely say that they were surpassed.
I found myself drawn toward the "one more run" loop of the game to master and beat each successive level/boss....UNTIL....
The one thing I couldn't tolerate was the final boss and the pretty high difficulty spike there. More so, what I actually disliked, was how long it kept taking me to get to her before dying. I just don't have the time to play for an hour only to die in a fight that doesn't give me time to learn the moves.
In the end, after watching it, i decided I wasn't going to finish it due to time, but it was still a good time playing this game.
