Finally finished this game, after reading some bad reviews I stopped playing, but after returning after a few years the game was not that bad at all…

So I've had this on my wishlist on the eShop for several months, waiting for a sale. However, yesterday I realized that my XBox One, which I only bought two years ago when quarantine first hit (when I got an urge to play games from the 360 era that I couldn't because of my bricked 360, namely Fable III, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey), has gone woefully untouched for the better part of a year and a half.
Booted 'er up, got Game Pass for a whole dollar for the first month, and got to try a bunch of stuff, like Tunic, Myst (which I've always wanted to play but have never gotten around to snagging), and this!
I've only played about 45 minutes, but so far: the art is incredible, the music is engrossing, the combat is a comfortable turn-based with some interesting mechanics in regards to weaknesses/resistances, and the premise is really interesting. You start with all eight of your party members, and the different races and jobs are cool; I love the Peyskas. It looks like there's some decent depth to the job growth, and based on the status menu, everyone will also get secondary jobs?
Movement is limited as you can only move horizontally and jump, so you're not really exploring the towns and dungeons. There's also a ring that's basically the Tales games' Sorcerer's Ring.
I need to finish Stranger of Paradise (and I guess FFIX) before I delve any further into this, but I really like it so far.
