Point-and-clicks haven't really been my wheelhouse since Full Throttle - I've missed a lot of the genre classics like Grim Fandango and Myst, and fully intend to get around to them. Games like Bad Dream: Coma, however, remind me that the genre may just not be for me.
The game has an assured art style and a narrative with strong elements, but unfortunately it's too often frustrating to come together in a way that makes the experience unique. Efforts to apply dream logic mean that puzzle solving is often arbitrary, without the cause and effect that makes puzzle solving so enjoyable. Instead of applying the tools at hand, sometimes the game expects you to wander back to somewhere you've already been to see what's randomly changed. It's jarring and strangely punishing - your choices have consequences, but you're rarely given clear context as to what choice you're even making.
Stylistically interesting but functionally flawed.
Picked this up for 89p on the Nintendo estore today. Was pleasantly surprised! Felt old school but not tired or derivative. I liked how it punishes you for clicking everything. I'm a veteran adventure gamer but even I'm guilty of that at times.
Warto sobie zagrać w ciemniejsze i mroczniejsze wieczory.
PROS
CONS
A point & click game where the protagonist is taken to a world a little different from the real one, in which each action taken throughout the game has a sequence revealing whether the protagonist is good, neutral or bad leading to one of the finals. I did the route of good and bad and without a doubt the world between these two routes changes dramatically.
