This is basically what I wanted Fallout Shelter to be like. Authoritiarian Jingoism is on the rise and you know what's up: Time to build that bunker before they drop the big one!
The game features a government agent who checks on your house once a week, so you have to hide stuff and build everything in secret, this was a great dynamic that really made the game fun for me.
Theres lots of stuff to do and you basically advance your daily activity regime so the gameplay feels fresh when you open up something new.

No really, the first thing you might thinking is how these look like those fake games that they put on phone advertisements, the ones where you play a survival game and build a base and all that. However, this time, there is an actual full fledged game and it isn't a texture switch for a Chinese rip off of Clash of Clans. Not only that but this game has surprisingly some soul in it.
Something about about the formula just screams that it would be made with 0 love, just your dime a dozen survival base management game, but there is actually some nice touches, interesting concept art, characters, and even a lil lgbt rep, which came as a surprise, it's pretty much they checked off a list just to not be yet another survival game you see on Steam.
Given the nature of this type of game, there is a certain urgency and anxiety to it, the mechanic of having to keep the house look normal while secretly building a bunker is a interesting feature and done pretty ok in this game, yes there is a sense of anxiety and you might have the feeling you are even on …

Given the nature of this type of game, there is a certain urgency and anxiety to it, the mechanic of having to keep the house look normal while secretly building a bunker is a interesting feature and done pretty ok in this game, yes there is a sense of anxiety and you might have the feeling you are even on a timer of sorts? Well apparently, now that I've beaten the game I can confirm: There is actually no timer at all! Just a means to press a button to end the game when you get there.
But yes, until you reach that certain plot point, you are free to spend as much time as you want and grind as much you want, which honestly? This is the type of game that preys on you not knowing how to do everything efficiently, it introduces new mechanics and new things every now and then that would make you go "Oh i wish i could restart the game knowing this info to plan accordingly to it" and I actually did that? Without knowing that the time was unlimited.
Another thing that always made me feel as if I was missing out on something was that, I never really got to the point in which it becomes winter and I get to use the winter jacket. Also there is a lot of empty space on the map when you find out everything? I'm not sure if that is a sign they were rushed or planned for more locations but ended up on that selection, or even opened it up for the possibility of DLC.
