These lightning-quick vehicles are capable of reaching simulated speeds of up to 600 miles per hour while skimming a mere 4 feet above the ground. Feel the full-force blast while avoiding hazards such as methane lakes, meteor showers, and the notorious Tusken Raiders. I am old enough to have played the 1999 original on PC when it came out and have just picked up the 2020 remaster on PS4.

Its unbelievable. Ok, compared to modern racing games, which is absolutely not my thing, it’s probably seriously lacking and the gameplay is pretty simplistic, but boy is this thing fast, the pace is just unbelievable. It just feels so incredibly incredibly fast!

The beginners / introductory circuits are pretty easy to dominate, but once you get past those, things seriously go up a gear.

It’s a shame it doesn’t have a multiplayer, then again that’s probably a good thing as otherwise I’d be up the entire night.

PS just don’t expect “remastered” graphics and textures, they’re not. It still looks very 1999. And the controls take a bit of time to figure out.
