Finished the campaign mostly on Ultra Violence. I went to Hurt Me Plenty on the last 3 levels just to hurry and beat the game.

POTENTIAL DOOM SPOILERS (i think)
Just finished playing DOOM and wow there are a LOT of questions in my head. Who were the holograms that appeared after I got the Crucible? Is Dr. Samuel Hayden just a robot or is someone else controlling him? How much about the Crucible does Hayden know (because he seems to know how to wield …

Overall VERY solid experience. I'm a bit confused at the lore part (maybe because I didn't play the previous games) but everything else is top of the line for an FPS game! Seeing as the ending was a bit open ended, I'm hoping for a sequel to the game. That would be a must buy for me!

I'm currently playing DOOM (2016) right now, and I gotta say that it's probably one of the best FPS games out there right now (not the multiplayer though) It just feels so smooth and satisfying how it feels to shoot and glory kill the demons and all. Really well thought out and the music matches the game so perfectly! I would really recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it yet.
Also, it deviates from the COD/Battlefield FPS mechanic that lets you regenerate health which is so good, because it actually forces you to go out there and kill them to get your health and ammo back which gives this high risk high reward feel to it as well. Good stuff good stuff.

Unpopular Opinion: I bought the 2016 Doom recently and finally had a go at it to see what all the fuss was about. Honestly, it's ok but I'm not particularly impressed with it; it's quite reminiscent of id Software's previous flop Rage. Going to throw it in the backlog for now, might come back to it eventually, but …

Maybe I'm just not much of an fps gamer any more, haven't enjoyed a first person shooter in forever, apart from Devil Daggers.

Got this free with the PS4 Slim my girlfriend bought me for my birthday. Spent the following months playing the christ out of Horizon. When I finally got around to putting this game in the console I was gobsmacked by how freaking awesome it was.

this was fun and a great game but i dont know about replay value, which seems weird. were i younger i could see myself playing it endlessly. But even as much as this game does do for a "modern FPS", i feel like the FPS is a one shot. back to the fallout hole!

Absolutely amazing. Great gun play, the movement is fun and actually makes difference in the fight, just amazing. Not even guilty, just pure pleasure. Oh....and METAL AS FUCK!!!!!

Polygon named Doom their game of the year. I really can't argue with that. There may be other games I enjoyed more than Doom in 2016, but Doom is one expertly choreographed production, and my god is it fun!

Hmm, after reflecting on what I liked about Syndicate I am thinking I really need to play DOOM. It's easy to imagine that game took everything that was done right in Syndicate and took it further based on what i've seen in videos and pictures. Wonder if the two are similar in some ways.
I will tell you. Necromancy …

I will tell you. Necromancy is what wins. There is nothing more satisfying than blowing thy foe into a thin red paste and stealing the powers or soul from their ebbing remains. (Bethesda knows this but wont admit it outright. It's Daedra worship!)
