Arguably the best Sims game, Sims 4 wishes it was Sims 2

I think The Sims 2 was turning point of the franchise: they gave tools to the modders to make so many mods that it became clear that TS2 was going to be the staple of the franchise.

I can scarcely count how many hours I spent on the official website, making stories for my sims to post online, showcasing exactly how good of a player I was by slapping modded characters with TONS of CCs on them: from vampire fangs to hair dyed in the most comical manners, I think TS2 offered a larger interpretation of the Real Life Simulators that was TS1. A gigantic step up, in my opinion.

Sims 2 is a pretty funny game, it´s much more rich in variety than the 1st one but it´s ... too easy. In Sims 1 it was so difficult to find ten friends and keep them at the same time. In Sims 2 those things became too easy unfortunately. I like the small challenges like "Buy a chair for at least 500 $" or "Earn 2000 $". It makes me feel like I´d have something to do like always. But still it´s not difficult enough. I remember how difficult it is to start in Sims 1. I mostly started with a single guy or girl that lived without a fridge or something because it took some days to afford one. This was fun. In Sims 2 it took a little bit and my couple had everything. Even a flatscreen and a billiard table.

Still it´s a great game. In some ways even better than Sims 1 because of several innovations and somehow I don´t really miss Sims 1 since I have Sims 2. All in all I like Sims 1 a little bit better, though.

Good game

I played the Nintendo version and finished it, but didn't ever get a chance to fully play the Playstation 2 version- looked like fun though.
