In theory this is exactly what I want PoP to be. It focuses on the platforming, minimizes combat and provides consistent banter between the prince and his companion. Elika, is an ideal videogame companion - she is useful, interesting amd never gets in your way. It is the same dynamic as it was with Farah in SoT, except Elika is always there beside you.
I wish it was a tighter game. The more open-world approach means you'll be backtracking a lot, especially since the gameworld is littered with shiny immersion-breaking orbs for you to collect. You need atleast 540 of these to complete the game as far as I can tell. I find myself collecting them compulsively, as an excuse to keep climbing and jumping through the beautiful scenery.
I am about 3/4 through and unless it throws a major curveball towards the end, then it is an undeniably repetitive game. It is a pity that they returned to the SoT-verse after this, since a sequel could have finetuned what is really an incredibly nice, enjoyable videogame.
