Audio and dialogue ques and triggers need some reworking. There are some things that trigger despite the fact that conditions in the game have changed, rendering that audio content invalid. It's not game breaking, but it would be nice to see a patch for this.

My God, these menus are just rubbish aren't they? Even something simple like finding which missions you're tracking is a big damn hassle.

Well. I found, and took down, one of Andromeda's "Dragons". I'm not complaining, but there's a lot of Dragon Age Inquisition in the DNA of Andromeda.

I like the new new dialogue wheel. I loved the Paragon/Renegade tree in the old games, but stylistically things needed to change. In those games (for all the branching storylines) the options were pretty clear. The only question was how far you'd go to save the galaxy. In Andromeda the options are more nuanced. You're in over your head and feel it. It makes sense that you'd need a less focused set of options. And best of all, they give you a lot more of an ability to build a personality. If I want a jokey Ryder I can do it. If I want a no nonsense gruff one I can do that too. And I don't need to be psychotic to pull it off.

Wow, uh, those character animations sure are swell. Seriously, it's been six years. Hasn't technology improved at all in that time?

So, Andromeda started a little rough (At first I wanted to go back to DA:I or replay the original ME trilogy again) but after the initial story mission I am starting to love my crew. So, Andromeda started a little rough (At first I wanted to go back to DA:I or replay the original ME trilogy again) but after the initial story mission I am starting to love my crew. I think there is a lot of potential in this game for some great personal stories. And there are some intriguing mysteries to solve. I miss my old ME friends, but I think Andromeda has some great new ones.

Medium to strong spoiler warning: Hearing Liara's recorded messages just about killed me!

How does a Canadian game studio, partially based in Quebec, produce a game where a character pronounces niche like "nitch"? Clearly I found the game's biggest glitch.

It's hard to listen to characters discuss various events and information knowing full well that they are missing crucial answers that were all provided only shortly after they left the Milky Way 600 years ago. It's just so painful knowing you know things they don't.

Looks like ME:Andromeda got some not-so-good reviews ahead of its launch. The score here is 3.8 based on 8 ratings. Some users have already played the game, apparently.

I love the bit at the 4:08 mark. Solve the mystery of the vaults via exploration, platforming, puzzle solving, and combat. I guess this month sees the release of two open world Zelda games ;-)
