agurczuk's review of Enigmatis 3: The Shadow of Karkhala

Final part of the Enigmatis series and the conclusion of the story.

A standard HOPA (hidden object puzzle adventure) game but one of the better examples of it. If you have not played the first two - then it's better to start with those. If you did play them - you pretty much know what to expect.

This time the story takes you to its conclusion and lets you visit Himalayan mountains. The locations are pretty and varied.

The puzzles remain the level of the previous games which is to say they're still good and solid. Not too hard but I never expect those games to be too hard but rather a causal relaxing playtime.

The story is solid throughout and is not becoming any weaker now. The conclusion is satisfying and the whole trilogy leaves a good trace in the memory.

Definitely worth picking up the whole series and a big recommendation from me.

Good Hidden Object Game

Enigmatis 3 is probably the weakest of the series but still one of the better HOGs out there. It has a couple of 'throwaway' puzzles that are so easy they don't really matter. The HOPs have a few items that are either too obscured to be reasonable found, and a couple of weird ones where the word doesn't really match the item. But that's all i can complain about - and i love complaining about things.

The story, the music, the voice acting, the puzzles, the HOPs, the use of items, the map, et cetera all get a passing grade at worst. The Hidden Object Puzzles themselves are especially good here, with some objects requiring multiple steps to process. Enigmatis 3 kept me entertained from start to finish, i never had to use a walkthrough and nothing stood out as bad. If you want to play good Hidden Object Games, you can't go wrong with the Enigmatis series.
