The only other Far Cry I've played before this is Blood Dragon, which I loved.
Far Cry 4 started great. A good villain, an awesome setting in the Himalayas, and tons to do and explore. I got about 6-7 hours into what seems like a huge game and quit though. It's unfortunate hunting is such a large aspect of the …

Far Cry 4 started great. A good villain, an awesome setting in the Himalayas, and tons to do and explore. I got about 6-7 hours into what seems like a huge game and quit though. It's unfortunate hunting is such a large aspect of the game, because I hate that part. I don't like killing animals, even if they are virtual. At one point I found myself blasting down an innocent wild deer that was just standing there so I could craft an increase to my wallet size. It felt gross and I turned off the game there.

I decided to stop playing Far Cry 4. I interrupted my playthrough because of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and felt a little saturated with the 'ubi style' open world games.
So. I read on Wikipedia the endings of the game and now I'm REALLY happy about not playing that anymore. They're terrible! The whole plot is almost as bad as …

I decided to 'forgive' Far Cry for how awful was the fifth game. I came back to the franchise and Its reminding me to Far Cry 3 a lot, which is good, because I really liked that one.

I love it when weird stuff happens in games.

I planned to take out an outpost in Far Cry 4 by using a mounted gun in a truck. I figure I would drive up, park the truck, switch to the gun, and shoot the guys at the gate. Then I would go back to driving, inch forward a bit more, and repeat the process.
I got to the gate as I planned and started to switch to the gun when all of sudden I hear the scream of an elephant that proceeds to flip my car out of the way, then attack the outpost and maul all the bad guys. Wacky.

This game is like Far Cry 3, the return. That is totally fine with me. I very much enjoyed the upgrade system, shooting, and open world checklist they had created and Far Cry 4 is more of that. I also like the story so far and the characters are interesting enough to keep me wanting to do more story missions. …

This is in contrast to Far Cry 5 that I was not interested in the story and their upgrade system and basic weapons didn't click with me.

It's hard to justify spending much time on this game when the prequel and sequel are so much better. It's fine, just redundant. Same basic mechanics as the others, which is great, but lacking the story of personal change in FC3 or the dystopian America of FC5 and nothing feels like it matters much.

Not a bad game, just doesn't do much that its brethren don't do better.
