Hilarious

Even though the newer game might not have kept the same feel as this one and with the new movie coming out soon this game is a 100% must play. i give it a low 9

Borderlands 2

Borderline Good and Just Ok?

I really don't think I'm a Borderlands fan. I tried really hard to like, but it's just not compelling to me. I mean I guess it's design to be a mindless shooter, but I don't really like the shooting. The guns are ok (at least the ones I gotten), the enemies are a little spongey. A lot of my gameplay …

The guns are ok (at least the ones I gotten), the enemies are a little spongey. A lot of my gameplay was basically trying to get second wind. I played through the whole campaign with my brother and high school friend and that's pretty cool. But nothing really is drawing for me to go back. I might give the series one more try, but I'll have to try Tiny Tina's or maybe Borderlands 3. I'm not doing the Pre-Sequel.

Play the game with a friend... I guess...

I should have learned my lesson but alas here we are

My thoughts on this game were affected by the Pre-Sequel. I couldn’t finish it. it occurred to me that it was the same kind of game as the pre-sequel and I thought to myself “hey, you don’t have to do this again”. So I didn’t. If I was rating for enjoyment it would be lower. It does exactly what it …

The best word I could find to describe this game is "bland". You will do the same thing over, and over, and over... in the same locations over and over and over (they look just the same). Also, the voice acting can become incredibly irritating and juvenile. It's a shame. Because the look of the game was really interesting. I could only recommend this to people that play nothing but bland console games and don't know any better, or teenage kids who might find the subject matter amusing.

Borderlands 2 - Dropped

I can't in any good faith really call this a bad game. It's certainly not a GOOD game. There's a lot of heart and soul put into the nooks and crannies, from Handsome Jack's great delivery, some of the interesting build variety choices, some of the speedtech, some really good abilities, some fun satisfying moments with the gunplay.

But like, on top of all of that is a whole fat load of garbage. There's a ridiculous amount of grind, a shitton of terrible writing, a whole lot of fluff and fucking about. I don't understand WHY it's a loot shooter, it doesn't really ever meet that goal of being one. I'm not really a big fan of diablo but there was more concise design choices for why that game is loot-ran, where loot here is a lot of fluff shit.

There's a good FPS here, it's just under a whole lot of gearbox shit. I do fully understand the appeal of why people play this game as much as they do, in fact in some ways the co-op play of it is recommendable on its own in the way most co-op anything is, but even still I can't in any faith keep playing this game past a few hours because it just numbs my mind. I don't think I'm ever really going to grasp the full appeal of this, but I guess I should be glad that people find fun in this game because there's never anything wrong with that. (5/10)

Started the Pirate Booty DLC to get the two remaining achievements left in it. After that I've just got some of the new achievements left. Hoping to finish the game before BL3 and make some space on my hard drive.

The plot is not amazing, but works. It ties perfectly Borderlands 2 with the events of Tales from the Borderlands. I'm still not sure how it will relate to Borderlands 3, but I'm eager to discover it.

In recomend you to download it, even if you're not planning on playing it soon. I suspect it won't be free for too long.

With six classic weapon types, grenades bouncing everywhere, and lots of cover to weave through, this game plays much like any FPS title. What sets this game apart though is its style. It is a perfect blending of Mad Max (Mad Moxxi?) and space cowboys from space, carrying an emotional edge while at the same time not taking itself too seriously. In a lot of ways the game is self-aware. It knows it is trying to make you feel like a run-and-gun badass (as you can tell by the huge number of times the word "badass" comes up in this game). If anything sometimes this game tries a little too hard to make you feel like a badass, with some slightly cringey dialogue here and there.

As for the main gimmick of the game (the randomly generated guns) there are upsides and downsides. You do get a huge variety of guns but this did give me some choice fatigue. Sometimes getting new guns felt more like a chore as I had to spend time considering whether I would keep it or sell it. I got pretty good at figuring out how to judge guns (price and elemental damage were two big factors) but it still broke up the gameplay sometimes when I had to do inventory management and gun appraisal on the fly. This goes double for all the DLC (which involves real money instead of game currency). There's just too much and even after all these years I still don't feel like there is a perfect package out there for getting all of it in one inexpensive go. I got a game-of-the-year pack and was still missing skins and other little things…

I played this game in 2019 for the first time, and even though this is a 2012 title it holds up well. The cell-shaded graphics keep the game from looking dated while also making it feel more like a comic book. The mechanics and gameplay are good (if not great). And everything is wrapped up in a slightly weird mostly fun "badass" aesthetic style. This game is irreverent when I wish more games would stop taking themselves so seriously.

I got a shotgun that shoots swords that explode into smaller also explosive swords.

Now I remember whi I liked this game so much.

(Also, the ending of the Dragon Keep DLC was honestly beautiful and affecting).

Complete 360 version, all achievements. Thank god that's finally done. Finishing off the X1 version shouldn't be too far away now. It's mostly just story in Tiny's Tina's DLC and the side missions in other DLC.

Pretty much exactly the same as the first game in the series, with a few additions and improvements, minus the allure and surprise of being fresh.
