I'm a bit sad that I got some biiiiig spoilers playing assault on dragon keep before anything else, but on the other hand, I am glad I did. Thanks to that, I found another universe to explore.

I am playing as Mordecai, because I have a deadly pet 🐦

The Borderlands movie was a shitshow. An humorless slop with a script so bad that not even Lydia Tár could save it (she was too busy dealing with her awful wig so she couldn't even act).

Borderlands is not the best video games franchise, far from it, but it deserved better.

beat the main campaign and side quests with mordy and I remember how much I loved this game at launch. loved the dlc packs as well except for the underdome cause I just wanted the bank but hated the 45 minute survival seshes of trying to beat that goddamned arena.

Deciding to give this a shot, can anyone recommend me a few first person RPGs? I was going to boot oblivion up, but god it's effort to patch bethesda games. Already played most immersive sims, so anything else would be appreciated.

Apparently I bought the GOTY edition on PS4 awhile back? It beats playing it on my 360 for sure, and I am having a ton of fun. I remember slowly fizzling out when my dad and I played through it on release around the point in the game I have reached now. I doubt I will have to worry about a new NCAA football game causing me to put it down this time, but I do miss how easy it was to play together when we lived under the same roof. Can't decide if I will play the pre-sequel on PC or through the handsome collection on PS Plus, but I think I will keep things rolling right after I finish this one.

FPS games like this have an audience and a great fan following but this is obviously not for every one. This is a below average game imo. I liked it up to a point but backlogged it when it became too difficult and time consuming. Damage caused by enemies is sometimes too high and you can get killed in an instant. Weapons cause inconsistent damage, snipers are as good as useless, weapon damage scores are meaningless, magazine upgrades take up inventory space, revolvers can do more damage than rocker launchers, this is such a mess. This game never appealed to me but I decided to play it only because Rage was inspired from this. Id software took inspiration from this dry and crappy game and created a masterpiece called Rage.

Borderlands holds up surprisingly well. Leveling up each weapon class as you use them is a mechanic I miss in the newer Borderlands games.

It's 3 1/2 stars. The gameplay is definitely the strongest point. Guns are fun to shoot, experimenting with new guns you find from random chests or even mission drops. Playing different styles based on what skills you recently got or put more points into, these are the best parts of the game. Most of the missions are boring and are mainly for the reward (there are some exceptions and surprises)it might make you chuckle sometimes. The mobs you kill are livelier than the NPCs, the way the story of the characters is told is shallow and uninteresting. I still have to play the DLCs maybe that might make me change my mind about some of the stuff. Not a must-play but fun if you get it for cheap or want to try the older Borderlands titles to see what changed.

Spent 31 hours, main missions and all DLCs, level 43.

If there was no other game in this series, i could play this one forever.

But there also some annoying bugs, glitches etc.

By the way it's good even with it's bad sides. Very enjoyable.
