The only reason I can think this game has gotten all the hate it has is because it stars two BIPOC people, a disabled woman, and shows a trans character for all of 2 minutes. Seriously.

This game was super fun and improved on the Telltale game model. There are new accessibility features - a must in the genre. New gameplay additions that, while small, make it feel even more like a Borderlands game. And, frankly, I found the characters more engaging and the story much more fun and memorable than the Telltale one - which haters keep claiming is better.
The idea that the biggest criticism I see is that "this isn't Borderlands" when it's made by the same devs, the people who literally created the franchise, is laughable af. If you don't like this style of game, that's okay. But I highly doubt that's what these people are up in arms about.
End of the day? If you like Borderlands and you like these narrative style games, then you'll probably enjoy what they did here. If you're some crybaby fanboy that complains about games being "woke" then simply f*** off into the sun where you belong. This game was Borderlands, in all its zany glory. Period.
