The 'death race' at the ending of the first episode was EPIC!

I'm still hype about 'Borderlands 3' (yes, even after Randy Pitchfork's meltdown. God, I hate that guy) after playing 'The Pre-Sequel'.
So.. I just started this one.
The only Telltale game I've played is the first season of The Walking Dead and really liked it, so I'm hopeful I will enjoy the same style of game but in Pandora.

I bought this to give me something to do if I got sick of reading ebooks on a flight to Europe from the US. I loved the Borderlands games, but I didn't have a ton of expectations for this. After all, as fun as Borderlands is, character development and storytelling are not its strong points (I had never played a Tell Tale game before). I was very pleasantly surprised, and once I started, I played the whole thing through. The one upside of not being able to sleep on planes I guess.
The story was surprisingly deep and interesting, without losing the absurd, over-the-top humor that is a hallmark of the Borderlands series. The characters are relatable, and they do a better job than I could have ever imagined making the world fit this genre. Aside from a few annoying QT sequences, the interaction is actually a lot of fun and fits well. If you like interactive novels or you really liked Borderlands, you will probably enjoy this. If you really like both, you'll have a blast. You can usually find it on sale, and it is well worth the time and money you'll invest.

Absolutely fantastic game. I have not played any Borderlands game before but it sucked me in right away. One of the best Telltale games, the characters are funny, the story is well-written and the music is perfect. I hope some of the characters will turn up in Borderlands 3.

Combining Telltale's standard gameplay formula with the writing, world and lovable characters of Borderlands has resulted in an excellent addition to the series. The previous Borderlands games were great but, because of their length and repetitive gameplay, they could be a real grind, Tales lets you see the world of Pandora from eyes other than a vault hunter's. Your choices may not alter the story drastically but they do change who your allies are which is a nice alternative to the false pretense that all your choices will change the course of the story. The writing is fantastic, with each episode better than the last. There are some incredibly fun scenes and some laugh out loud moments. For anyone who has enjoyed the Borderlands series and is at least partial to Telltale's point and click formula, this is a must.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as most people seemed to have. I felt that parts of it dragged on too long. I did think most of the characters were pretty good, though.
