Main game

The series keeps throwing a new spin with every new entry being released. The Sigmund Corp premise, the writing and the music are holy trinity that set the games in high esteem by the gaming community. This "Beach Episode", in spite of the namesake's tropes in Japanese media culture, is still connected to the overarching development of the main characters to subtly tie some loose ends in prior. Frankly enough, the key detail about their fate had me puzzled about since when it transpired, only to learn from the game community that there's the double narrative the series have been hinting about the whole time; an incentive to replay the whole series for a refreshment once the series ends up complete.
As for the game itself, it's a welcome, short return to the familiar characters that have warmed to me along the journey. If you're new to the To The Moon series and enjoy story-focused games with the charm and heartwarming soundtrack (to maestro Kan Gao's credit), do yourself a service and start with the original game first.
Wise words that a backlog gamer could heed. Also, the writer's name is similar to my... "Chronolog". o_o
