Man, I wish they would remaster this game. I would love to see enhanced graphics and a refinement to the Batman combat that the later games introduced. But the core of the game, the setup, and Metroidvania exploration is so solid.

Jogasso, lembro de ficar jogando a demo de arkham city em loop. Agora revisitar desde o primeiro está sendo uma experiência muito boa!

Originally played the crap out of this on 360 when it came out in 2009. Steam achievements show I tried to play again playing in 2013, 2016, and 2019 on PC without finishing it. Not sure why but I got you now, PC version of Arkham Asylum. 2022.

Is Killer Croc's lair supposed to be a total meme? You slowly walk on floating platforms towards the spores and when he pops out of the water the music is put on full blast as he approaches you. Then you hit his collar with a Batarang, he goes "I can't believe you've done this" and falls over into the water with the music dying down less than 2 seconds after it started. You rinse and repeat this for about 10 minutes.

Was this fight supposed to be so bad that its hilarious?

Hot damn this is some good gaming. Always a pleasure to see the origin of a lot of gaming systems that have become a mainstay in the industry.

I just don't really care for the gameplay all that much, but I am enjoying the atmosphere and doing Batman things. I've not played the other Arkham games, but by the time the combat system was "borrowed" for Shadows of War a decade later, it was much more enjoyable (go figure haha). The bosses so far are also just kinda frustrating since the controls don't quite feel in line with the gimmicks.

I'll probably keep playing, but just in short bursts and spread out more. I was going to try to wrap Arkham Asylum up by this weekend so I could start the Supraland DLC when that comes out, but I think my patience for the some of the clunkier parts of this game won't let me play a couple hours a night.

Bought this on Steam for $5 and now a few percent in, just got the explosive gel- it's a great time so far. I'd rather that instead of 'detective mode' that things in the environment could be noticed more organically, but still that is mostly fine.

The camera analog stick control is really odd (but I'm getting use to it)- I want to invert either left/right or up/down but not both, pressing right turns the camera right, but pressing down tilts the camera up! It is a mad-house after all I suppose.

This was a decent experience. I bought the remasters ages ago and just never got around to playing them. Finished this in about 10 hours or so, gonna move straight on to the next game.

There's some clunkiness but I put that down to the age of the game, it plays really well and holds up but for a few small design choices that I personally disagreed with (which I'm sure others enjoy, so no real issue there). My primary complaint is stealth segments in non-stealth games, at times I lost fair and square, at times I lost 'cause Batman takes ages to sidle on ledges or geometry looked like it gave me cover when it didn't. But, that's not horrible, just a little trial and error.

All in all, good game!
