I finished the FF1 portion of this game.

I plan on playing FF2 on a different system (PSP) so I am considering this "completed". Took me 31 hours!

I found the game to be pretty grindy but I still enjoyed the experience. Plot was a bit weird.

Graphics and music were pretty good. I liked some of the characters design.

I definitely did not like the magic system, I can see why they quickly changed it in future games.

But yeah, wohoo I did it, I beat the first final fantasy! Honestly this is the second one I've actually finished the other being FF7.

Currently trying to bring these warriors of light to their destinations. I'm at 14+ hours and just getting to the Earth Crystal. I'm fully stocked with potions. I wish I chose two warriors instead of a warrior and a thief. No turning back now! I almost bounced off the game for Hellblade: Setsuna's Sacrifice but then that game started to …

I wish I chose two warriors instead of a warrior and a thief. No turning back now! I almost bounced off the game for Hellblade: Setsuna's Sacrifice but then that game started to stress me out and I was like "I just want to play FF1" so I think I can do this.

So I didn't have any time to play yesterday either. Looks like I've failed at my "finish this game before Pokemon comes out" goal. But that's okay. My SwSh package hasn't arrived yet, I'm starting work, and I'll get back to this eventually.

Happy Friday, Grouvee family. c:

Barely played yesterday because I didn't have as much time as I expected to. Not sure if I'm gonna get this done before I venture into Galar tomorrow.

But hey, I saw Carrot Top when I went to dinner with my parents.

I definitely intend to finish this, but I can't say that I'm really enjoying the experience, haha.

I mostly wanted to play this for the sake of seeing where the series that I love and grew up with started. It's just so unpleasant to play, though, even if most of the reasons for it are just early RPG pitfalls: limited ability to save, super limited magic uses, paying a ton of money to res characters, backtracking through 4 levels of a dungeon multiple times, little to no story, etc.

There was one instance where two party members got KOd just as I was leaving a dungeon, and then I ran into a group of 6 zombies. They got first attack, of course, paralyzed my remaining party members, and whittled their HP down from 100+ 2 HP AT A TIME UNTIL GAME OVER. It took forever and I could literally do nothing.

I've had this on Vita for a few years.

Probably a bad idea, but here I am, starting this on a long weekend less than a week before new Pokémon...

Despite growing up with FF (and the music), I've only ever actually completed X (my favorite game), X-2, and XIII. I've started up 4 and 6-9 multiple times on different systems but the timing has always been bad for RPG completion, I guess. I really want to get through them all. VII I'm just not a big fan of, so I'll probably skip that. (I know, what kind of gamer am I, not worshipping the "masterpiece" that is VII?!)

...12 is still a DNF at like 60 hours, though, and will likely remain that way forever because ugh.

Starting this today. Always wanted to play the original FF1. Going to use a guide probably, and use a Fighter/Fighter/Fighter/Red Mage group that will steam roll the game, according to sources.

Picked this up on eBay for $10 to complete the set of Final Fantasy games. I guess all I need now are NES Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II and III for SNES, but not anytime soon. Those are expensive.
