Was really hankering for an RPG, but not one that was a big pile of open world exploration that bogs me down. Decided to replay FF 13, and maybe finally get around to playing FF13-2.
It has been like 8 or 9 years since I played thru and beat FF13. I liked it then, but lets see how it holds up nearly 10 years after its release.
First, the art and graphics:
When I first played it I didn't own an HDMI cord (broke college student, and those cords just weren't as common), even then I remember it looking good.
Now on HDMI HOLY CRAP!!!!! This is gorgeous. It looks better then many games I have played on my PS4, the character designs are interesting, the hallways really neat to look at, and the world is stunning.
The voice acting is amazing, and the music is some of the best I have listened to.
Gameplay in the beginning especially is bone achingly boring, with characters only having attack and 1 other ability. That said I am invested in the story, and really really having a blast.
One of my favorite things so far is that the game is putting story and character to the forefront. With so many games and not as much time as I would like, it is great to just jump in on the story and not wander around amlessly, or get caught in hundreds of side quests.
