Titanfall 2 is a first-person shooter with both a single-player campaign and competitive multiplayer. The campaign follows a Militia rifleman who bonds with a Titan, a large bipedal mech, after his pilot is killed. Gameplay combines fast-paced infantry movement, including wall-running and double-jumping, with sections where the player controls the Titan in combat. Multiplayer features team-based modes with players fighting as both Pilots and Titans on the same battlefield.

An underrated player in the FPS Market

Pros

  • Amazing story mode that has great replayability
  • A wide array of game modes
  • The different types of character abilities make for many different ways to play

Cons

  • The weapons don't feel diverse (eg. Weapons that are part of a certain category have set stats, such as set accuracy stats or caps on damage, etc.)
  • Weapon customization is very lacking …

Cons

  • Prestiging isn't great, because you lose almost everything you unlocked by leveling up (unless you used credits to buy them)
  • There is a lack of competitive game modes that don't feel mundane and repetitive

Another one of the few games I own on multiple platforms, partly because it can be picked up for ~$10 on sale.

Amazing graphics, fantastic varied gunplay, a great and satisfying campaign mode. I don't have time to get into the multiplayer aspect of shooters, but what I did play was just as tight as the single player experience.

This was an overlooked and severely underrated game, and well worth the very low price of admission for a playthrough. Highly, highly recommend the Xbox One X version for a 4K buttery smooth experience.

Campaign was fun and I was quite surprised at the creativity of the levels. Although for a game built more around the multiplayer I found the multiplayer to be not so appealing.

A little score skew upwards even if I don't entirely love the game, but it's probably the only twitch shooter to ever keep me coming back so I suppose it's doing something right. I really liked how creative the action set pieces were in the campaign, as well as the cheesy Boy Meets Robot narrative even if it's a bit rote at this point. Northstar best cause I'm a chickenshit coward.

Single-player campaign is short but surprisingly great, full of interesting ideas that don't wear out their welcome. I have no interest in the multiplayer, personally. The campaign is definitely worth a rental, at least, if sci-fi shooters appeal to you in the least.
