This is a Lego game I'll just say wasn't for me. The humor was too juvenile, and the gameplay felt very repetitive very quickly. These definitely aren't new criticisms for Lego games in general, but sometimes one of them will click with you, you know? If you're a fan of Batman and DC superheroes (it's very much an ensemble cast for this one, despite just "Batman" in the title) then it'll probably be more up your alley. There's certainly a lot of different costumes/variations you can earn for all the many characters, which I imagine are all callbacks to various media they've all starred in over the years.

For a game called "Lego Batman" they really sideline Batman in this. Free range Gotham is taken out of this game (thank God), but it's replaced with the insanity of free range Batship, Bat Cave, and so many Lantern planets that still boil down to indiscriminately running silly errands, nickel and diming your way up to 100%.

Free range Gotham is taken out of this game (thank God), but it's replaced with the insanity of free range Batship, Bat Cave, and so many Lantern planets that still boil down to indiscriminately running silly errands, nickel and diming your way up to 100%.

The character additions are pretty good in this and there are some unspecific improvements throughout that. I can't totally remember because I didn't review this right after finishing it like I should've. Way longer than it should've been but man, at least they removed the awful Superman Hub flying.
