Intro
JWE is a very basic theme park sim in which you build a tiny theme park with dinosaurs. It's a rather simple game with little depth.
DNA
To find dino DNA you send out expeditions. Your only involvement is picking the type of DNA you want to find and paying a standard fee. That's it. After getting enough DNA you can build a dino. You can adjust its stats a bit but not in a meaningful way. There's no splicing or anything, no hybrids, no special abilities or whatever (you know, like in the movies).
Pens
The dinosaurs are put in pens where they need food, water and their preferred terrain type. You supply food by buying a dispenser and refilling it every once in while. Water is usually present, or you can just terraform a puddle. Same with the terrain. You also have to make sure not to have too many dino's in a pen, and not to mix carnivores with smaller herbivores.
Humans
Humans need a hotel (there's one type) plus food, drinks, toilets and souvenirs. There's no depth here, you just build a restaurant and make sure it has enough staff. You can pick one of three products to sell and set a price but it doesn't matter much. Same with the other buildings.
Sleepy Buildings
You basically always have the same exact buildings. Maybe more toilets or something if you have a huge amount of customers. But nothing specific like in most of these games. There are also buildings that allow people to watch dinosaurs, bunkers, power plants, monorails and park rangers (jeep/helicopter) to solve problems. But as i said, even with mods/upgrades there is almost no depth and you just build the same stuff every time.
Missions
The actual "gameplay" consists of doing missions. Each island has a slightly more involved chain of missions for each of the three "factions" of your park (security, research, entertainment) but all missions are some variation of "build this kind of thing", "take a photo", "find/upgrade this type of fossil" or "prevent bad stuff from happening".
Missions
Not only is this incredibly dull, the people giving you missions are pandering to you as if you're standing on the edge of a bridge. They'll go "I never thought they would give this kind of mission" and they just want you to take a photo of a dino drinking or something. And you'll do dozens, hundreds of these missions. I actually got sick of even just hearing the damn word.
Conclusion
JWE looks nice and it's easy to play. It's just not interesting and requires you to do the same stuff over and over again (you can't even queue research/expeditions/etc). Also i was going to complain about how they use the portraits of people from the movies but not the actual actors but it is the actual actors (minus Chris Pratt). This game is so wack Jeff Goldblum doesn't even sound like Jeff Goldblum.
