I've been avoiding going back to this game for *checks notes* 4 months (!). Not because I don't like it or enjoy it, but because I was paralysed by one Very Big decision on episode 4 that really gutted me emotionally. Even now, just thinking about it makes me a bit anxious.

Have you folks had this experience with other games? A game in which you invested so much that some important part was so emotionally draining that you had a hard time playing through it?

Hell of a ride with this game. Started intrigued, then mildly annoyed, then completely engrossed and now I'm almost crying.

That "plot twist" at the end of Episode 3 was obvious from kilometres away, but the decision you are force to make at the beginning of Episode 4 is soul crushing. So much so that that I had to pause, drop the controller and go to do the dishes for about half an hour to clear mind and keep me from bawling my eyes out. I still haven't continued. It was too much. Had to quit the game in the hopes that tomorrow I'll have the constitution to keep going.

Oh, boy.

Ok, after some time the I'm finally starting to warm up to the characters and get immersed in the story. Yes, Chloe and I are doing dangerous stuff and potentially getting into trouble, but now it's for a good reason and not just for kicks. There are also genuinely cute character moments.

WTF is with these people? I don't get how the game is trying to convince me that Cloe is cool and what she's forcing me to do is fun when instead she is a loser asshole. She even gets mad because I take a phone call from a girl who so clearly is going through some very tough shit?

Finished episode one and it was... fine? I kind of like the characters but the gameplay is not there. In any case, I liked it enough to get the rest of the season.

I don't know if it's clicking with me. I like the ambience and I can empathise with Max but --at least the parts I've played-- feel too gamey; in the worst-point-and-click-adventure kind of sense. Like, someone is blocking a door and need to solve a puzzle to drive them away? Really?

Played a couple of minutes before going to bed las night. It's hilarious how quickly Max accepts that she can control time.

In chapter 3 and understanding more things... Entertaining but sometimes slow... Why do people like it so much, I don't know yet. It is okay but for the moment not so special

What I really love about this game is that in difference with The Walking Dead, where no matter what choice you make there's only one ending, you trully get to make a story of your own. At first I didn't like how the endings were structured and that was my main issue with the game but after a lot of thinking I've come to like them. Overall, I enjoyed every minute of playing this game, the visuals, graphics, soundtrack, the ovetall vibe is really one of a kind.

I believe I'm getting close to the end of Episode 4. So far, it's a fun experience but not necessarily a fun game.
