I loved DOW: Dark Crusade and DOW: Soulstorm so i had some hope this would be better than the other DOW2 releases. Instead, it's just more of the same, except now you can sit through awful dialogue and terrible scripted battles as one of the other races. There's no campaign map with bonuses. You don't get special abilities or build up a retinue. And it's still super-linear. Relic simply refuses to let you just play the game, instead you are constantly interrupted by the camera panning to things and they still want you to "shoot the barrels" and stuff like that. It isn't just annoying, it's boring.
