In some ways it’s an incredibly modern game, in how it exploits that old ass engine to find such a cinematic vibe and in how it avoids traditional objects-based puzzles to focus on the investigation and on ad-hoc devices and mechanics. And that’s why it’s still super intriguing and beautiful. That being said, it’s also aged atrociously in how it manages its difficulty (even though there’s not too many instances in which you can get stuck) and in those horrible action sequences. Oh, also not aged particularly well: the sequence in which you bomb historical buildings in New York.
