Players control an aging Ezio Auditore as he searches for five keys to unlock a library built by Altair, while also playing brief flashback sequences as Altair and first-person platforming sections as Desmond Miles. A large portion of the game is rather repetitive. Find Polo symbol; find book; find key; do Altair segment; write a letter to your sister; rinse & repeat.

The Desmond story also continues to make less and less sense.

There are apparently some fairly major graphical issues (flickering, character models warping) with this game in Windows 10 on GTX 1060. After beating my head against a wall for awhile, I found that deleting the systemdetection.dll file from the game's installation folder fixed it.
